The Hunt

At Sandy Cedars we plant different food sources to attract the Ringneck Pheasant. Corn, sorghum, and tall grass, and shelter belts will be the primary hunting habitats.

You’ll arrive at Sandy Cedars Lodge the afternoon before the hunt; just in time to get settled in at our comfortable lodge, enjoy snacks and beverages and prepare the next day.

On the first day of the hunt, enjoy hot homemade breakfast. You’ll get last minute details and prepare to depart to the hunting areas.  Many are within walking distance.  You will hunt unpicked corn strips, sorghum, shelter belts and grass.

At Sundown, or when limits are filled, it is back to the lodge to relax, tell stories of the great shots made, and the ones that got away…until tomorrow!

For license information contact Sandy Cedar Lodge or the South Dakota Game Fish & Parks.

For non-hunters, we offer a peaceful getaway for all seasons.  Whether its a family reunion, a holiday gathering, or just a night or two get-away, contact us.  We’ll help you set up a vacation that you will remember.

Please contact us and we will be happy to arrange a package that accommodates you.  We ask that there be a minimum of 6 hunters and a maximum of 10 for our package pricing.  Call early to make your reservation.  Bookings are transferable but not refundable.

All hunts include home cooked meals, beverages, first class lodging and fully guided hunts and bird processing.
